Dude is 2018 NL MVP and in top ten in a lot of good categories and he’s not cool with the results

He has 9 home runs, 8 against the Cardinals. After yesterday's ho-hum 2-5 with a home run, he's hitting 524/643/1.714 against them, with 10 runs & 16 RBI in 6 games. Anyone who massacres the Cardinals is OK in my book!

Man is Miami a trainwreck. 4-14, 48 RS, 91 RA, 69 team OPS+, 86 team ERA+.

I don't think they have even 10 legit major leaguers on the roster.

Speaking of, how the hell is Starlin still a Marlin? Yeah, he's started badly this year, but he's been cromulent and makes significantly more than the minimum, but not enough that they couldn't find a taker.

Starlin won't be for long. After this season there's a team option they won't pick up.

I would assume they try and move him at the deadline but perhaps the Marlins need to keep one legitimate major leaguer people have heard of.

Seems like a pretty arbitrary place to draw the line.

They probably should have shifted Starlin at the last deadline; the last FA market was swamped with 2Bs.

I'll admit, I thought the O's and maybe the Royals would be a bigger dumpster fire than the Marlins but I may have underestimated the Marlins (by overestimating them).

Anyway, let's see ... for sure

Alfaro -- outhitting Realmuto so far
Castro -- he may not have much ML time left but should still be worth a roster spot for now
Rojas -- not sure he'd start everywhere but he's ML-quality
Alcantara -- maybe not ready but any team would want him in their system

Probable to borderline

Brian Anderson -- again more likely as a bench 3B/corner OF type
Prado/Wallach/Brinson -- everybody needs a back-up C or IF or CF
various pitchers -- who knows which ones but all teams need pitching and there's probably a decent 5th starter or 5th-6th reliever guy in here somewhere

So that's 4 for sure and another 1-7 maybes.

Brinson's the name I'd expect the most objections to. And he's been terrible. But Greg Allen is busy being terrible for the Indians, Hamilton is stinking it up with the bat, Parra is still employed, Desmond is still starting for the Rox and Terrance Gore has racked up career hits 2 through 5. Fast (or maybe "fast" in Brinson's case) and CF-looking is still a good combo for short-term MLB employment. Somebody would pick him up as 25th man at least and there might well be 5 or so teams where he'd pick up at least 400 PA.

Prado and Wallach are probably even more tangential but Prado's off to a fast start so, as long as the new team wasn't paying him, he'd get a shot somewhere. Wallach is just a body able to squat behind the plate for 9 innings and still be able to walk the next day but that's the main qualification for back-up C so he'd either be the back-up or be an injury away at AAA.
