The Chicago Cubs are calling up their top prospect, outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, sources told ESPN.
Crow-Armstrong, 21, is ranked 15th in ESPN prospect guru Kiley McDaniel’s latest top 50 prospects. He compiled an .876 OPS split between Double-A and Triple-A this year, including 20 home runs and 37 stolen bases. He’s considered one of the best defensive center fielders in the minor leagues and will likely get a chance this week to roam spacious Coors Field, where the Cubs play a three-game series against the Rockies.
The son of the actress that played the mom in “Little Big League” is now a big leaguer.

1. Eric J can SABER all he wants to Posted: September 11, 2023 at 06:37 PM (#6141058)or maybe that's just a field of dreams.....
First of all, to whatever extent playing 1B reduces the possibility of anything getting pulled or strained, the Cubs might as well just piss away a WC if he goes down. Second, the data says he's a damn fine 1B defensively too.
But beyond that?
Tauchman has come back down to earth - he's now... well, back to what he was; a scrappy, well-liked 4th or 5th OF who is capable of a couple hot weeks. Madrigal likewise - after a brief spirt of offensive value - sucks again. You could dust the rust off Wisdom, I guess, and hope he puts in a couple weeks of launching some moonshots and being a poor man's Cory Snyder. Jeimer himself is scuffling mightily since his post-trade burst.
PCA is a better CF prospect (and, of course, a better prospect overall) than Canario - but as mentioned as the other place, Canario is going down, PCA is coming up... If you missed the fact that Canario was up - you wouldn't be alone, since he spent about 10 days on the roster, got to pinch-run, and get 1 PA in a blowout.
I get that Rossy is trying to secure the playoff spot.... but I have to admit, I'm getting a mighty strong whiff of F Troop: Rebooted. Whatever Jose Macias is up to nowadays, I hope he *wouldn't* pick up the phone if called.
Her real life husband (and Pete's dad) was the radiation guy on "Heroes" - she is 13 years his senior!
Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong was my guess, seeing as they were actually engaged. Felt more plausible.
Not if he's asked to lay down a bunt every time.
Wow, and I also see that she was 41 when Pete (her first and only child) was born.
