I'm not big-boned, I'm fat.

Was he getting paid by the word? The digression about medium-boned middle relievers and boneless left wings could have used an editor.

I’d have liked more data showing how he differentiated “big boned” vs. “fat” as the chart wasn’t as clear as I’d have liked but obviously he had to trim something out (no pun intended).

I'm both.

<Homer Simpson voice on> Mmmmm... boneless wings...

Surprisingly comprehensive. I'm impressed that the author was thorough enough to include players such as Japhet Amador in the study.

He really should have removed the Walter Young outlier. (Sheesh, Young actually admitted to 320 lbs. I wonder what he actually weighed.)

He was ~450 when he died a couple of years ago, so presumably less than that.

I saw him play when he was with Hickory, and he didn't really look fat per se back then - just big all over.

Per wiki: "Young was listed at 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) and 322 pounds (146 kg), giving him a Body Mass Index of 38.2 (over 30 is considered "obese")."

I saw Young play for the Sussex Skyhawks, and made it a point to stand close to the field whenever he came up. Dude was just plain big -- 350 pounds if he was an ounce.

Young died on September 19, 2015, of a heart attack. He was 450 lb at the time of his death.

And this is why I finally lost the weight. It's bad enough to have a heart attack; it's even worse for people to say, "Shoulda laid off the cheesecake, fatty!"

Counterpoint; a life without cheesecake isn’t a life worth living.

True. But when a thin man dies of a heart attack, it's a tragedy; when a fat man dies of a heart attack, it gets an eye-roll.

Surprising Walter Young stat: he had 22 steals in his pro career (1,041 games).
Not-so-surprising Walter Young stat: he was caught stealing 29 times.

A life without cheesecake is not worth living, but cheesecake can be enjoyed in moderation.

If you're fat and you die in a car accident, your last thought is "I should have had more cheesecake."

Unless you were driving to get cheesecake when it happened.

I mean, if you had more cheesecake you wouldn't need to drive to get more.

Not true, in these days. It's important to have extra.

[5] Chicken wings are at all time low prices right now. There’s typically an uptick in production during March due to March Madness, but without that this year it’s led to a surplus.

Not if you're doing it right.

Arguably the greatest news to come out of this thing in my opinion.... I love me chicken wings. (more than cheesecake---although Strawberry Cheesecake is not bad at all)
