A woman is alleging that a New York Mets outfielder physically and verbally abused her in Syracuse last year.
Khalil Lee, 24, is named in a warrant issued by Syracuse police for criminal obstruction of breath, a charge often associated with domestic incidents.
Lee is also named in a lawsuit filed in federal court Wednesday alleging he abused his former girlfriend while playing for the Syracuse Mets.
In the lawsuit, Lee’s former girlfriend, Keriwyn Hill, of Brooklyn, alleges that on May 7, 2022, Lee assaulted her by pulling her hair and choking her during an argument. Hill says the assault left multiple bruises and marks on her body.
Hill, now 26, went to the Syracuse police the next day and reported the assault.

that was in 2021, and overall he is 2 for 20 as a Met.
has/had a ...... er, decent chance of making the Mets roster to start the season if Starling Marte needs an extra week or two to get healthy.
This story is gross and the joke isn’t awful - just bad taste.
An arrest warrant was issued August 10. Was Lee actually arrested? Was he ever charged? When did the Mets/MLB become aware of the allegations? The article says "The lawsuit alleges that a Major League Baseball counsel has been notified of the charge" but doesn't say when.
Lee was in the lineup for the Syracuse Mets on August 10 and 11, out of the lineup on the 12th, and then back in on August 13 and 14. I don't see an easy way to pull minor league game logs online and I'm not pulling them one by one, but it looks like Lee was active for the rest of the season. So they either didn't know or chose not to put him on administrative leave.
If I'm defending RMc, the world has entered a wormhole. I don't think it is fair or accurate to read that as doubt, or implication she hasn't been assaulted. It doesn't say "Even if she wasn't", it says "Even if she hadn't been", which is a pretty clear assumption that she was.
Anyhow, the assault is terrible; but as a born native, it's hard to put jokes about the shittiness of Central NY out of play this early.
He played every day pretty much.
Thanks. He was sent from AAA Syracuse down to A-ball St. Lucie a few days after his girlfriend went to the police, but he was also hitting .149/.276/.189 so that's probably the more likely explanation for the move.
