Ex-MLB All-Star Dan Haren to Auction off Bobbleheads for COVID-19 Relief Funds

Former MLB pitcher Dan Haren is doing what he can to help those dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Molly Knight of The Athletic, he is auctioning off some of his bobblehead collection, which includes more than 300 figurines. What’s more, he is including personalized notes about the players with each one, including a reveal he once hit Vladimir Guerrero on purpose and was caught by Albert Pujols playing Pokemon Go.

Haren is auctioning bobbleheads such as Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, Derek Jeter, Reggie Jackson, Manny Ramirez, Cy Young, Frank Thomas and Mike Piazza, among many more.

Dan Haren seems like a super likeable goofy guy with a big heart.

The 1000 K Club at Age 26-30:

17 Hall of Famers: Tim Keefe, Old Hoss Radbourn, Rube Waddell, Ed Walsh, Walter Johnson, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Bob Gibson, Juan Marichal, Gaylord Perry, Fergie Jenkins, Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, John Smoltz, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez

10 who pitched in 2019 with only Chris Archer who hasn't made much HoF progress: CC Sabathia, Felix Hernandez, Justin Verlander, Cole Hamels, David Price, Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale, Chris Archer, Jacob deGrom

Roger Clemens and David Cone in the Hall of Merit and Johan Santana #2 back-logger. Mark Langston, Mickey Lolich and Sam McDowell with pretty good careers that don't seem likely to be honored by the HoF or HoM. And then Dan Haren, Hideo Nomo and JR Richard.

Because this was posted here, I now own a bunch of bobbleheads. Don't know what I will do with them.

We need details to evaluate the wisdom of this investment, but with bobblehead imports from China presumably interrupted, Dog may have cornered the market.

I got Hank Aaron, Frank Thomas, Manny, and an A's-era Mike Piazza that in no way resembles Mike Piazza. Plus 20 mystery bobbleheads! Perhaps one of the mystery ones will be solid gold or something, but unless I have grossly underestimated the market for bobbleheads, I may struggle to recoup my investment.

That should be especially valuable, like a rare mis-struck coin, no?
