1. Chris Needham Posted: January 11, 2012 at 01:59 PM (#4034297)Of course they weren't. What is this boy hiding?
Coincidence?
Yep. The Rays have to go on like a three week road trip IIRC.
He's being paid six million... Kenyan shillings. Which at current rates breaks down to a little less than $70,000.
That's one way to put it. Think the contract requires the Rays to pay him in gold bullion?
With Farnsworth still on the roster? This is why WAR is a stupid stat.
Nothing like a bit of groveling in front of the umpire before each at bat, i always say.
I humbly submit I didn't check bbrefdwar before I commented, Yer right. With the Farns and Scott on the roster, we've out-douched previous lone-mega-douches Gomes and Burrell (at least Gomes hit some o' the time). Look out AL East.
TB DH's since 2007:
Greg Norton
Jonny Gomes
Cliff Floyd
Willie Aybar
Pat Burrell (/spit)
Johnny Damon (wither art thou Manny?)
And now presumably Luke Scott and the cavalcade of Maddon's "just the right guy at the right time" guys -- which has been just fine for four years.
Evan Longoria will and forever always be the guy that expels the drug cartel/frees the Cambodian sex slaves/saves the hostage orphaned children from the Eastern European madman who forgot the Cold War was over.
Luke Scott would either be Bill Paxton from Aliens or the archetype foul-loudmouth-captain-guy that always gives Longo ####. Each served their purpose.
