1. Addie Joss Posted: October 30, 2021 at 06:58 PM (#6050135)So you're suggesting Trump belongs in a restroom because he's a turd? That makes sense.
It beats overthrowing democracy to protest imaginary election fraud, I suppose. But that is a mighty low bar, indeed.
Jessie Owens is Trump's idol? Cool!
Grievances and culture war bullshit is all the GOP can offer its non-wealthy constituents.
Jesse Owens is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I notice.
Did the TV cameras pan to him at all? And if they did, then when was it?
Since it was Fox, I am surprised they didn't send Joe Buck up there to blow him.
Fixed.
I'm in my usual "pox on both their houses" position on this, but it sure looks an awful like it's the leftists starting the "culture war" here.
Those of us old enough can remember Jane Fonda and Ted Turner chopping away from the front row during the early 90s World Series including at least once with Jimmy Carter himself sitting right next there by them. There was certainly an element then that bemoaned the chop, but the difference then is that there wasn't a media ecosystem driven by clickbait and perpetual round-the-clock emotional outrage, performative or otherwise. Repeating, it's not really my cup of tea -- very few things that big mass crowds of middle-aged middlebrow white people do are -- but it's also not really that big a deal.
lol
Trump is a jerk, and he does this stuff solely to trigger people like you. And, boy, ain't you triggered!
Thank you for your cooperation.
when i go to a restaurant, noone chainsmokes half a carton of cigarettes at the next table while i'm trying to eat my meal. #liberalnannystate4lyfe
Whether you agree with it or not, the Democrats are at least trying to pass a spending bill right now that would benefit millions of Americans. I personally don't like everything that was in there (i.e. free community college), but it's at least something that's intended to help the citizens of this country. Yeah, the left gets into the culture war stuff, but it's not the party's entire modus operandi the way it's become for the GOP.
They should just get off the internet for a few days and clear out the dopamine. They just sit around seeking out things that are going to put themselves into emotional tumult ... so they can then come and seek therapy from the other tumulted on the internet. It's a strange phenomenon, to say the least -- though certainly good for the pocketbooks of Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, and the like.
But enough about Republicans.
You're not suggesting anything; you're trying to ban them from doing something.
the Democrats are at least trying to pass a spending bill right now that would benefit millions of Americans.
Yeah, the millions of Americans who put them in office in the first place, with plenty of pork for the lawmakers themselves. (The GOP is no better, of course.)
We were once a country that went places and did things. Now, we go nowhere and do nothing, and we blame each other for it.
Sigh.
Zuckerberg and Dorsey and whatever Sulzberger is now publishing the Times absolutely love a captive audience sitting at their computers or on their phones doing nothing but drooling with outrage and looking for the next dopamine hit. From a purely soulless business perspective, they've done a masterful job at creating one. It's run the country into the ground, but, hey -- the business of America is business.
It's a good thing all right. I've given up on seeing a man on Mars in my lifetime, but maybe we can return to the damn moon before I die? Pretty please?
Our time is gone - if you want to see a man on the moon, the Chinese are your best bet
To this day I think only about 10 people have walked on the surface of the moon
Well, of course you do.
Couldn't say, I haven't been watching. The clip I saw was posted on Twitter, looked like it was taken on someone's phone, but he and his entourage were pretty much in Uecker seats.
I definitely remember Turner and Fonda chopping all during the 1991 postseason, although Fonda quickly apologized after she got some flack for it.
Mostly, though, I remember camera shots of Fonda sleeping during the game.
One of the more interesting things about Facebook connecting you with older people you would otherwise get to avoid is seeing them both be very proud of their grandchildren while caring #### all what kind of condition the planet will be in for those same kids a generation from now.
And whitey's on the moon
And yet we're sending people to the moon
