Former SF Giants player turned internet troll Aubrey Huff running for local office, will probably lose badly

In what can best be described as an immense display of hubris, former San Francisco Giants star Aubrey Huff is running for a school board position in the Southern California city of Solana Beach.

It’s clear Huff is relying on star power to win the seat (he wrote “Retired Professional Athlete” on his filing paperwork), but there’s a problem with that strategy: Since retiring in 2014, Huff has become more well known for his right-wing politics than for his prowess on the baseball diamond.

Huff’s ardent support for former President Donald Trump likely won’t sit well with voters in Solana Beach, the San Diego County city in which Huff is running. A San Diego Union-Tribune analysis of this year’s June primary election shows that there isn’t a single Solana Beach precinct in which Republicans outnumber Democrats. Huff is running in the coastal portion of Solana Beach, and the Tribune analysis shows Democrats have a double-digit voter registration advantage in all of Solana Beach’s coastal precincts.

Sounds like the only way Huff can lose is if the election is rigged to be stolen from him. They don't use Dominion voting machines in Solana Beach, do they? I hear they're terrible... the worst... not reliable at all. Can't trust them.... you just can't trust them. What else can I say?

Sounds like an opportunity to grift.

Huff should have been a Padre, he would have gotten along great with the "law firm" of Hosmer, Tatis, and Pham.

Or with Dravecky, Show, and Thurmond.

Having recently stumbled across Len Dykstra on Twitter, Huff is really just a cute quaint caveman.

You should see what Nails is now serving up - and yes, prior to the reacquainting - I was well aware of his priors. Let’s just say the years have not improved him.

Huff has become more well known for his right-wing politics

And that simply can't be allowed! He's an "internet troll", dontchaknow! (Funny how left-wingers never get called names in these kinda articles, ain't it?)

Personally, I've hated Huff ever since he blew the 2009 AL Central for us, so I don't think he should be on the school board. I think he should be strung up.

Just do a Google search for some of Huff’s tweets before they kicked him off. Regardless of your politics, that guy was trolling.

Against my better judgment I wasted 5 minutes on Dykstra's twitter. Don't make the same mistake, folks, it's not worth it.

Whatever one's views of Huff and his latest hobby, passing off the linked piece as a *news* article is pretty damn hilarious.
