1. vortex of dissipation Posted: November 28, 2011 at 07:24 PM (#4002406)Arguably most popular? Is there any doubt that the Giants are the most popular team in Japan?
I'm not especially knowledgable but I assume that the Giants are similar to the Yankees as both the most popular and most hated team in the sport in their respective countries. Depending on how much you ding them for the hated aspect of it perhaps another team is more "popular."
More likely it was just a writer avoiding making a blanket statement without being able to verify it.
Man, tough crowd.
