1. Zach Posted: August 08, 2022 at 06:49 PM (#6090691)These are not the only times Duran has had difficulty seeing the ball in suboptimal conditions, and it's worth noting that the opposing CF playing in the same conditions has not suffered the same fate. I'm willing to believe it's not an attention span thing, or a lack of interest in holding a MLB job. Then it comes down to ability. Since it's Boston, I'm going to guess that at some point a year and a half from now he'll take an eye test and find that he hasn't been able to see very well this whole time. That's usually the amount of time it takes for a physical deficiency to be discovered by the medical staff.
A HA! That would explain his career .265 OBP, he has no idea if the pitch is a ball or strike because a guy with 128 Hits and 32BB should have way less then 188K.
Even a noted a noted strike out king like Mark Reynolds had more hits/BB combined then K's. It's not a good sign for a slap hitter like Duran to K as much as he does.
If he were a Met, they would just pop one out and get a look. You can always just put it back in later.
