Josh Lewin leading candidate to replace Wayne Hagin

I would take a mutant like Josh Clay over Wayne Hagin…but I will settle for Josh Lewin.

According to Newsday’s Neil Best, “Josh Lewin has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Wayne Hagin alongside Howie Rose in the Mets’ radio booth.”

Last month, Mike Puma of the New York Post said WFAN recently auditioned Jim Duquette for a spot in the Mets radio booth, since “Wayne Hagin is not expected to return.” According to the report, Billy Sample, WFAN reporter Ed Coleman and SNY host Chris Carlin were also being considered.

Is this the Rangers lead tv guy? I don't like him very much.

Carlin makes Hagin look like Vin Scully.

He was the Rangers lead TV guy. Left when Nolan Ryan came in.

Sadly the outlet for Mets games on the radio up here in Albany has signed a 3 year deal to broadcast Red Sox games instead. Just when I have a prospect of not hearing Wayne Hagin again, I lose more than I wanted.

Hire a different fan for each series. I know it won't happen, because some of us won't shill. But think of the entertainment value! And if any broadcasts will need extra entertainment value.....

Definitely the best landing spot for the PBP guy who led the league in Seinfeld references during his tenure with Texas.
