This is a prelude to trading at least two of their stable of interesting young SP and SP prospects of note.
Fierce disagree. His funky never-quite-repeated-the-same-way-twice delivery is terrific. I love that he sometimes quick pitches batters - they're expected his usual gyrations and he just throws a pitch. Must drive catchers nuts.

Agreed. I haven't seen him in a while, so I was wondering if he had moved into Trachsel territory driving DL's comments. But he was about my favorite pitcher to watch when he was with the Reds/Royals.

I watched him extend a game against the Twins last summer into a 4 hour ordeal. Step on the rubber, stare a while, step off, step on, stare a while longer, batter steps out, get back on the rubber, stare again. It was brutal.
He may have just had an odd game for him. Cueto has generally been a quick worker in his career. Baseball savant has him at 15.7 seconds between pitches against a leave average of 18.1 with nobody on. With runners, he was also a couple of seconds below average.
Cueto has always been good about managing baserunners. Maybe he was just extra vigilant that game.

Agreed about Cueto being fun to watch. Love love love the quick pitches. He is an old school guy.
For all the cash being throw around this offseason, this is a great price for a guy who posted 3.5 bWAR last year.
