Anyone else worried about Trout? He's been Gallo-esque for a month-and-a-half now.

Due to a major internet outage in Canada yesterday Springer might have lost his slot in the OF. Few in Canada could vote at the last minute due to it - I know I tried but couldn't. Would've been funny to get 6 Jays on the team though.

Adam Duvall??????

Funny, if you are going to say 'lead the way' shouldn't you go with the guys who won by the most? Alejandro Kirk getting 74% is pretty dominate, 2nd was Vlad Guerrero Jr with 66% so instead of emphasizing the LA Angels the emphasis should be on the 2 Blue Jays. Of course, that might be home town bias showing too.

Yep, let's brag about a city stuffing the ballot box... At one point in time it was argued that the Blue Jays might have had 6 players in the final ballot. Ballot stuffing is bs and the reason why the fan vote is ridiculous. Kirk is clearly all star worthy, beyond that, there is a bunch of decent players who are probably not remotely the best choice for the position. Good enough for the second or third spot of course, but not the best option out there. (I mean seriously, does anyone think Bo Bichette, George Springer or Santiago Espinal remotely belong in the all star conversation?)

Sad that I've reached the level of disengagement with contemporary MLB that there is now an ASG starter I've literally never heard of (Kirk) until reading this story.

Dude. I literally just learned that Gil Hodges and Jim Kaat are being inducted into the hof...only because of an MLB commercial I watched today. It's possible I knew this before and forgot, but I literally was thinking a couple of days ago about how eventually Gil Hodges and Jim Kaat (and Tommy John and Dick Allen and Steve Garvey) will eventually be inducted, without bothering to check that they are going in this year.

That is sad! Kirk is a chunky boi and he's fun to watch!

Yeah, Kirk is cool. He's maybe 5'6" in heels, and built like a marshmallow. But he's also really good.

So he's got PRD's body type too (except I'm 6' and built like a marshmallow)? Yes, RR, that is sad!

And my condolences to cfb too.

I’d like to see Tim Kurkjian (5’5”) interview Kirk, so we can measure how inflated his official 5’8” height is.

Kirk looks like an Ewok

Springer was named by the league to the team so clearly he did belong in the conversation. Yeah, I used to get annoyed with ballot stuffing when I was a kid and thought the game was supposed to be best vs best, but lets be real this is purely an exhibition for fun. Part of the fun is stuffing the ballot box which means it will be super-hard for a player in Florida to ever make it. If the league wanted to stop it there are an assortment of ways to do so but instead they encourage it with the 5 votes per day thing and the constant marketing of it. The Jays fans just were the most into it this year.

Kirk should not be considered in because of ballot stuffing. He's far and away the best catcher in the AL this year:

Rk Player WAR BA OBP SLG OPS OPS+
1 Alejandro Kirk 3.1 .309 .395 .481 .876 147
2 Jose Trevino 2.2 .261 .308 .439 .747 113
3 Jonah Heim 1.9 .265 .317 .479 .796 126
4 Cal Raleigh 1.6 .199 .269 .455 .724 106
5 Christian Vazquez 1.1 .292 .339 .429 .768 110

Right, Kirk is obviously qualified. Am I supposed to be upset about seeing Vlad at first base rather than Ty France?

Part of the fun is stuffing the ballot box which means it will be super-hard for a player in Florida to ever make it.

It can't be that hard, otherwise Jazz Chisholm wouldn't have been elected to start this year.
