Mets player Angel Pagan arrested for traffic violations in Martin County

“Pagan baby, take me for a ride”

New York Mets baseball player Angel Pagan has been arrested for traffic violations, according to Florida Highway Patrol arrest report.

On Thursday troopers stopped Pagan, 27, for speeding on Interstate 95 when during a license check deputies learned he was driving on a suspended license and had several warrants, the report states.

The report did not say how fast Pagan was traveling. He is rehabbing from elbow surgery at the Mets facility in Port St. Lucie.

Pagan had a valid Arizona’s license but also has a suspended Florida license for not paying a traffic fine on June 15, 2005 in St. Lucie County, the report states. Pagan was on the disabled list following surgery to have a bone spur removed from right elbow. He is rehabbing from elbow surgery at the Mets facility in Port St. Lucie.

Also, he had a failure to appear traffic summons on Oct. 22 in Martin County and a Martin County warrant for failure to appear for driving while license is suspended, the report states.

I liked the last part of this story:
New York Mets baseball player Angel Pagan has been arrested for traffic violations, according to Florida Highway Patrol arrest report. ... Pagan told officers he was not worried about the arrest, as he has many gods looking out for him at the moment.

Two Florida Highway Patrol officers once pulled over this guy, too, for traffic violations. However, they released him immediately and he was never charged. The officers refused to explain why. Both quit the force the next day and joined the seminary, which was weird for cops named Silverberg and Schwartz.

It really is gold isn't it? His name is the ironical Angel Pagan and he's being looked after by his many gods....seriously you just can't make this stuff up.

I'm betting Angel has a sense of humor and was only joking.

Well, this insightful commentary has lead to me getting a banner ad for the Book of Mormon. Well played. Also, Tix Nix to fight my ticket. And for a discount David Wright jersey.

any relation to Jose?

EDIT: when Alvin Dark was manager of the Giants, he actually called Jose "PAY-gun" as opposed to pa-GAHN, which is how everyone else pronounciated it
