Minor League Rule 5 Draft results, pick by pick

Typically, the Rule 5 Draft consists of Major League and Minor League phases, but since all Major League transactions are frozen until a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is in place, only the Minor League phase took place during this year’s Winter Meetings. The Major League phase may be rescheduled once a new CBA is in place.

There were some interesting and noteworthy names taken, including former No. 8 overall pick (2015 Draft) Carson Fulmer, taken by the Dodgers from the Reds, and fellow right-hander Jon Duplantier, also selected by the Dodgers from the Giants. Both were once on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects list. There was one current member of a Top 30 list taken: Right-hander Curtis Taylor, who was No. 29 on the Blue Jays’ Top 30, was taken by the Nationals.

Should have titled this as "Yankees acquired Manny Ramirez".

Unless I'm forgetting someone really noteworthy, Roberto Clemente was the best player ever taken in the major league part of the rule V draft.

Who was the best player ever taken in the minor league rule V draft? (Not a trivia question, I'm actually asking.)

Technically, I think the best ever Rule 5 guy was Big Six, but that's not really the same thing. He, Clemente (whose image is on the shirt I'm wearing in honor of R5 day, part 1), and Hack Wilson are the 3 HOFs to go in Rule 5.
For the minor league phase, I think it's Paul Blair* (with apologies to 4-time All-Star Manny Trillo).

* EDIT - Ack - this wasn't exactly accurate. The major league phase has 3 separate drafts that year - the latter two where you could pick up recent signees without playing them in the bigs. So, not Blair. It's Trillo after all! (part of the now defunct AA phase of the draft). Other All-Stars per Wikipedia from this phase were John Hudek, Alexi Ogando, and Scott Podsednik.

Recently, Omar Narvaez, Justin Bour, Alejandro de Aza, Ryan Thompson, and Tyler "no-hitter" Gilbert. Almost no one reaches the big leagues.

No one took Kyler Murray.

There's a player named Walking Cabrera?

(visits bbref)

75 walks in 662 PA. Not bad.

Also: lol at the Marlins doing the old OOTP "massive Rule 5 draft list" thing.
