MLB announces partnership with drug dealer

Major League Baseball now becomes the first major professional sports league to form a sponsorship agreement with a CBD company. Charlotte’s Web is now the first “Official CBD of Major League Baseball.”  In June 2022, MLB officially opened the category for the league and its Clubs allowing sponsorships with CBD companies that are NSF Certified for Sport®.

“As a leader in the CBD category, with products that provide health and wellness benefits, Charlotte’s Web is a welcome addition to the MLB family, representing a landmark partnership in baseball and sports,” said Noah Garden, MLB Chief Revenue Officer.  “Charlotte’s Web products which receive the NSF Certified for Sport® designation have met the highest safety standards and can be promoted across MLB events and media platforms.  We are excited about the possibilities this partnership offers as CBD becomes a more widely adopted part of the health and wellness regimen of our players and fans.”

What’s next from the mind of Manfred?  An Official Vape Juice of Major League Baseball?  Crack pipe?  Home meth lab?

CBD isn't a drug, moron.

Imagine going out of your way to change the headline to make other people look bad and it backfires completely.

CBD isn't a narcotic but it is a drug, moron.

i'm not an expert on this, but from what i can tell, CBD is about as dangerous as rubbing alcohol. in fact, it's probably less dangerous, especially around open flames.

I'm not really seeing the controversy here? Can someone who is opposed, please enlighten? I don't think this is as bad as the partnerships with gambling, but maybe that's just me...

Imagine getting this worked up over CBD.

MLB currently partners with four alcohol companies. Since you are all snarky about CBD,

CBD is a medicine.

PS...MLB also partners with Taco Bell and Dairy Queen, which are both a heckuva lot more damaging to a body than CBD.

No commentary on CBD (don't know the first thing about it) but Taco bell and Dairy Queen are not damaging to the body. A bad diet is. Obesity is. You can consume fast food without have either. You can eat high fat food, and as long as it's in the right quantity, no harm will come to you.

No, I'm sticking with it. Perhaps it's not a thing in states where marijuana is already legal, but my little city of about 200,000 people is overrun with shops peddling this stuff and the use of marijuana imagery in their logos makes it clear they want the public to associate weed with this "lifestyle." A quick Google maps search turns up 18 shops in town just with "CBD" in the name, and that doesn't include places like the freakin' Hallmark Greeting Cards store where they also have a big CBD sales display at the registers (Who knew shopping for birthday cards could bring on such debilitating stress?). Some (all?) of them also hawk some Asian plant extract called kratom, which sounds like it's still legal only because not enough people have died from it yet for politicians to take notice and start banning it ("Safety problems related to its use are concerning. ... In animals, kratom appears to be more potent than morphine." -- Mayo Clinic). If CBD isn't a drug, the industry is working damn hard to make sure the public gets the impression that it is one.

MLB has partnerships for beer, for cervezas (I know, right?), wine, and whiskey. We're gonna complain about CBD? Huh.

It's a young market, and a lot of people trying to get in on it.

Omg, your town has 18 drug dealers operating in plain sight, won't somebody please think of the children!

There isn't one. This is PR's weird agenda, apparently.

In tonight's news at eleven find out why Negroes, Mexicans, and jazzmen encourage your children to smoke reefer.

Check the calendar! Tonight's news will be about dealers handing out MDMA fentanyl disguised as halloween candy and even having it touch your skin can cause overdoses.

No one is dying from CBD "overdoses" (or for that matter, weed overdoses).

Let MLB clean the house from the demon alcohol ... which has filled graveyards for centuries.

I give my elderly dog CBD oil for stress and aches and pains. Won't someone think of the dog junkies?
