Mets SP Marcus Stroman, we hardly knew ye.

he's due off IL but instead announces a case of COVIDphobia.

he hasn't tested positive - he just is concerned he may get it.

Marcus becomes a FA in the offseason, and joins Thor in skipping 2020 while Wacha has landed on the IL with a sore arm.

Phillies are thrashing the Braves - leading 10-1, still batting in the 2nd. Homers by Harper, Segura, Gregorius & Quinn. 8 earned runs charged to Sean Newcombe.

HOW WILL THE ASTROS LOSE TODAY?!

Answer: I don't know, but it will make a lot of people happy!

Nationals have their HR hitting shoes on against the Mets tonight. Asdrubal Cabrera, Trea Turner & Juan Soto all went yard, as Nationals lead 5-0 after 3. Soto’s HR, 58th of his career, passed Mickey Mantle, on the Age-21 Leaderboard. In a normal season, Soto might finish as # 1 on that leaderboard, since he’d “only” need 30 HRs to top Mel Ott, but the shortened-season will likely leave him no better than 4th.

EDIT: MASN informs me that was the longest HR of Soto’s career (463 feet).

ok, No. 5 is well played

Phillies were up 13-1, going into the 9th, and win 13-8.

One might think that the Phillies had a pretty good chance of scoring the most runs in MLB tonight, but the Nationals are beating the Mets by 2 touchdowns, 14-0, in the middle of the 6th.

Asdrubal Cabrera’s 2nd HR of the night (along with 2 doubles) makes it 16-2, Nationals. Mets have only used 3 pitchers.

Sean Newcomb’s performance tonight earned him a trip to the Braves alternate training site:
The Braves optioned lefty Sean Newcomb to the team’s alternate training site after tonight’s game. He’ll remain on the 40-man roster and in the 60-man player pool.

This is the latest in a series of hits to the Atlanta rotation. In this case, as with Mike Foltynewicz, it’s simply a matter of inadequate performance. Newcomb, 27, was bombed in a forgettable start this evening. He recorded only four outs while doling out a pair of walks and a pair of long balls and permitting eight total earned runs.

Chris Owings is going to start the rest of the season, isn't he.

I don't know why I keep watching Angels games. Life's rough enough as it is.

Ah, now I remember. Sometimes, good things happen.

Sometimes, Mike Trout happens. In this case, he happened multiple times.
