If Rusch is on the block, Dan Duquette should be on the phone with Steve Phillips. The Sox are in dire need of a lefty arm and they have a glut in the outfield. The Mets badly need an outfielder. Rusch is a quality young lefty that could be around for a few years and would be a big help to Boston this year. I like Trot Nixon but you have to give quality to get quality,(unless you are dealing with now retired Woody Williams. I still can’t believe he traded Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek for Heathcliff Slocumb). How about Nixon and a prospect, maybe Casey Fossum, for Rusch?
