Jared Walsh just hit a 450-foot grand slam, his 9th homer of the season. The Angels have their new first baseman.

Fowler back in the lineup today. If the team is healthy, the might be able to compete, Flaherty is having an off year, but had an excellent game yesterday. Fowler has been one of the good bats this season..... so having him back is nice.

I know that there are too many good performances this year by many other pitchers, but Wainwright has had heck of a season so far.

waino was doing well until the 6th, just couldn't get his pitches and so he got touched for two runs, which isn't that bad but tonight it feels like 20 the way the cards are hitting. they must be gassed after the 4-game win streak.
   8. phredbird Posted: September 21, 2020 at 10:36 PM (#5977996)

oh, and now the royals are stealing with a 2-run lead in the 8th. they're breaking unwritten rules! time for some chin music!

might as well make it interesting.

that was a craptastic game.

dexter strikes out looking to end it.

Apparently Alejandro Kirk was the first catcher 21 or younger to get 4 hits in a game since Pudge Rodriguez in '91. One of those hits was his first career home run. I'm cautiously optimistic that calling him up so young (and having never played above A-ball) might not stunt his development.

Edit to 11: Apparently Mauer did it as well. But now I read that Kirk was the first catcher 21 or younger with 4 hits including 2 extra base hits in a game since Johnny Bench.

Just wait to the kid fills out a bit, he’ll really be something.

The real highlight was watching him score from 2B on a single.

Is Max Kepler actually European, or was he born on an air base or something?
