Now the goal is get through 5 before rain.
He's now allowed 15 earned runs in 14 innings over four June starts, and has walked 8 batters in his last 3.2 ip after walking just 20 through his first 13 starts.
17, since the two on base scored.
EDIT: At least he got a couple of quick outs. It would be good if he get through five or six innings before the Astros get a hold of the Yankees pitching staff this weekend.
Jesus, dude. Do you have the ability to say positive things? He retired the side easily. We are about to put the Rays in a small garbage can and sweep them away with our fifth win in a row, in a game that was Snell vs decrepit CC. Judge is back Friday! CC may get number 250 if he can last 5 (and he's only thrown 24 pitches through 2).
There will always be things to complain about if you want to though, sure.
Yes. DJ LeMahieu, Gary Sanchez, Luke Voit, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela, Cameron Maybin and the bullpen have been awesome. It would be nice if a few of their starters (other than Tanaka) could go more than five innings.
You almost made an entire positive comment! :)
It's a process:)
And by coincidence or whatever, Tanaka's 3 best starts of the year have all been against the Rays, and Paxton's best start by far was against the Red Sox.
I choose this option.
we amusingly have only three hits and not one since the first inning.
EDIT: Ah, I see here that in his only previous AB against Osuna, in 2017, Barnhart got a single.
I missed that in Gameday while I was looking up splits for Tucker Barnhart.
<Mr. Burns>It's called "playing the percentages" </Mr. Burns>
April: .267/.347/.472, 5.45 r/g
May: .232/.316/.373, 4.30 r/g
June: .218/.280/.376, 3.75 r/g
Not an encouraging trend...
I second that notion.
Fernando Tatis continues his impressive season, reaching base twice and scoring twice in the first two innings. If Tatis hadn't missed a month, he'd be the frontrunner for NL RotY, instead of Pete Alonso. As it stands now, it could be a toss-up between the two...
*Both them and the Cubs have been underperforming theirs all year, MIL has been consistently overperforming.
I keep posting instead of paying attention to the games---the Machado 3-run homer was overturned into a run-scoring single, it's only 3-1 Padres.
Max Scherzer will take the mound against a division rival in 2+ hours with a broken nose and a black eye. If this isn’t must-watch stuff for a Nats fan in mid-June, I don’t know what is.
trying to imagine how that could happen, but I'm stumped... :)
Apparently on the play a runner was thrown out at 3rd.
I, and an exclusivie group that appeared to be considerably less than 5,000 fans, was at the game, a make-up of Monday’s rainout. Besides the outcome, among the highlights was the inclusion of “Vandelay Industries, Leaders in Latex” in the groups recognized on the scoreboard.
No, I didn't. I can totally picture it though.
It gets better - caller says he is a Mets fan.
now, Wheeler is a lame duck, but maybe Mets can get a prospect for Wheeler and just wait a few days and just claim Maybin on waivers.
Florial for Wheeler. Who says no?
This is great stuff.
Can't you just ######' enjoy your RBI at 2B ?
That sounds high.
Hope those dopey Londoners can cope with that.
They say he got the black eye in a brawl with Dave Martinez to keep pitching past the 6th inning, though.
The Yankees. I'm the last one to prospect hug, and I think Florial is a bit overrated, but I just don't think Wheeler is good.
EDIT: The edit to #70 stepped on my line. Boo!
for $99, I'd get:
Field Level ticket
Soup Nazi Meet and Greet
Guaranteed Bobblehead
Guaranteed Seinfeld Baseball Cards
VIP Entrance
Entered to Participate in In-Game Features
As a Yankees fan, I hope this doesn't happen, of course.
Scherzer’s fastball tonight averaged 96.2mph, the hardest he’s thrown in a game since September 2012.
The Red Sox up 9-4, nice bounce back after yesterday's extra inning loss.
NY wins again, to quote Andy, WHEN WILL NY EVER LOSE?
Max Scherzer is a legend. Really great outing from him
Mike Trout is still good at baseball.

Aaron Judge has completed his rehab assignment with the RailRiders.
Can you think of a worse approach/execution in that situation?
EDIT: And Marcell Ozuna GIDPs to end the inning and send the game to the 11th.
I mean that is pathetic. Don't they have coaches for this kind of stuff? He was also facing a pitcher who had just entered the game... how about taking a freaking strike????
literally he called the entire future sequence of events while Dejong was walking to the batters box... Intentional walk to Dejong, three pitch strike out to bader all Sliders, and a Fowler double play.
wasn't that DP on ozuna?
anyway, it was a pathetic inning.
goldschmidt looks bad, as do just about all our hitters.
i wonder if he's hiding an injury.
d'oh!!! then he homers to end the game!!!
sweet!
wow, that was a no-doubter.
