If it was part of shifting, will it go away now as infielders are forced to move in?
Canceled my classes today. Finally got FUBO to watch the Angels and get MLB.TV free with T Mobile. So I’m making today a national holiday.
#### the man.
EDIT: Now 7, one batter into 3rd inning.
EDIT II: Ground out to 2nd ends the K streak.
Corbin with an uneconomical 60 pitches thru 2 IP for WAS and he trails, 3-0.
--No longer are all the other games/scores strung along the top of the frame; you now have to click a drop-down menu to see the other games/scores.
--No longer is the current batter (and on-deck hitter) listed at the top of the "Live Action" batter, above the live feed of pitches, which is really boneheaded. You still see the pitches---"Called Strike," "Ball," etc.---but to see who is batting you have to look to a different area of the window, below the graphic of the batter, which I often have cropped below the bottom edge of my tab browser.
As usual, I will grow accustomed to the changes. A few years back when they completely reorganized the interface, I kept using the "classic GameDay," which was available if you knew how to enter the URL properly, which I felt was far superior to the revised version.
My guess is the changes are made to work best with a phone, but I'm usually watching on an iPad or a laptop (or monitor).
Hmmmm, maybe I can adjust something on my end...
EDIT: 2-run HR by Gleyber Torres makes it 3-0 Yankees.
EDIT: Webb with 9 k's through 4IP
Wife was more than willing to have a brandy old fashioned to celebrate the day.
Not a beer liker and def not Brandy. But wife will represent for WI
I put gameday back on my vertical monitor, then changed the magnification until I got the scores across the top. (in case you don't know how to do that, either click ctrl on your keyboard and use your mouse scroll wheel to change it, or click the three dots in the top left of your browser and change the zoom--- I know I'm probably repeating commonly known info, but it's the old computer trainer in me)
I do have to apologize though, because I am having the second problem you mentioned about the current batter and on deck batter.
So good to see after last seasons suck fest
Story of Arroyo's life. I'm surprised he isn't out for 3 months.
Still super impressive.
How does Wrigley not sell out? Weather?
Didn't look closely, but didn't notice any CS in any boxscores.
I thought new Braves announcer Brandon Gaudin did a solid job, and paired pretty well with Jeff Francoeur (who, to be honest, is a better announcer than he was a ballplayer). Their interview/banter with Alex Anthopolous in the 2nd was a highlight.
Oh, good win, too. Nice to see Acuna and Albies looking healthy again. Hopefully Fried just will be back soon, but reports are he's going on the IR with a tweaked hamstring.
On the brighter side, the game was over in 2:33, about an hour less than it probably would've taken last year.
In the entire 2022 season, the Yankees had only six (6) games shorter than today's, and all of those games had fewer runs.
EDIT: Coke to Salvo.
EDIT: Jinx. Buxton triples.
I didn't know that, I wonder what the record streak is for one organization.
Early-season Cubs attendance has been mediocre for years, and it was just a matter of time before Opening Day was affected too. I don't live in Chicago anymore, but my impression is that various factions of the fan base are very upset at the Ricketts for various reasons, and it's not surprising that an offseason featuring a bunch of whiffs on high-profile players before settling on the Dansby Swanson consolation prize did not win them over.
All of that makes sense, but still, it's Chicago, Wrigley and spring, maybe it's too soon after St Paddy's day or something, it just feels like Wrigley selling out on opening day should be automatic. Or at least the attendance on the surrounding area...
But he looked safe from like every angle
