1st-inning HRs by LeMahieu & Gardner put Yankees up 3-0 against Orioles.

EDIT: Higashioka HR barely clears LF wall in 2nd inning, but good enough to make it 5-0. Alex Cobb not having a good day for Orioles.

Phillies designate Neil Walker for assignment, and bring back the ever-popular Ronald Torreyes, best-known for happily standing between Aaron Judge & Giancarlo Stanton whenever the Yankees lined up.
   3. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 11, 2020 at 06:11 PM (#5975833)
Gerrit Cole tosses a 114-pitch, complete game (7 innings), 2-hit shutout, as the Yankees take Game 1 of today’s doubleheader against the Orioles 6-0.

Texas tries the "opener" strategy against Oakland.
He walks the bases loaded, and then gives up a grand slam to Matt Olson.
   6. Dillon Gee Escape Plan Posted: September 11, 2020 at 08:31 PM (#5975860)
Matt Hall gave up 4 runs in 2 1/3 and his ERA dropped.
   7. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 11, 2020 at 08:40 PM (#5975865)
Luke Voit’s 3-run HR (#15) makes it 7-1 Yankees.
   8. Howie Menckel Posted: September 11, 2020 at 08:42 PM (#5975869)
the Mets get 10 in the 4th inning off the Blue Jays to grab a 14-1 lead - with the first 6 coming off Anthony Kay, part of the deal in the Mets' ill-fated acquisition of Marcy Stroman last year.

they should pull deGrom after 5 innings. lotta work left to try to grab a cheap 8th seed
   9. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 11, 2020 at 09:04 PM (#5975881)
Luke Voit’s second 3-run HR (#16) makes it 10-1 Yankees.

Let's watch some World Series Champs Oakland A's... oh, was that a homerun ?!

That was gross man !

a SF Giant player has tested positive, so the NL West gets its first challenge of the season. squad will be in "timeout" for a few days, presumably. game tonight postponed, obviously
   12. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 11, 2020 at 10:16 PM (#5975918)
Luke Voit really needs to button up !
   13. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 11, 2020 at 10:22 PM (#5975921)
Probably that Sars2emski guy. @Giants

That was one ugly dog.
   17. The Duke Posted: September 11, 2020 at 10:48 PM (#5975930)
Castillo steamrolls the offenseless Cardinals. Lopsided game. He could have thrown both ends of a doubleheader and won both games. How is it that the reds aren’t crushing it - I would not want to face that staff in the playoffs
   18. The Duke Posted: September 11, 2020 at 10:53 PM (#5975932)
Voit is a machine this year. I thought he was coming back to earth but he came out of his mini- HR slump tonight
   19. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 11, 2020 at 10:57 PM (#5975933)
Michael A. Taylor’s 12th inning single walks off the Braves, 8-7 Nationals. Both teams missed some opportunities, with 32 runners stranded.

If you just think to yourself, "What's the worst possible outcome of this important plate appearance for the Angels?" then you can guess exactly what's going to happen pretty much every time.
