1. The Duke Posted: May 24, 2022 at 11:16 AM (#6078283)really?
now, I did forget his career year of 2017, with a 146 OPS+ in 515 PA.
but since then, what he's "accomplished" is getting consistently worse - OPS+s of 101, 94, 69, 55, and now 47. and at age 33, he may soon accomplish himself out of MLB even with his defensive versatility.
I can't think of another NY/NJ TV or radio booth person in any sport who is that much of a homer. I realize it may play in some markets, but I just hope nobody in the region drove off the road hearing that bit of 'wisdom.'
;)
Gleyber Torres hits his 2nd HR of the game, another solo shot, to bring the Yanks within a run.
With Matz down for the count and Flaherty a month away I'm expecting to see Jon Lester and JA Happ soon
If Kike and Story continue to go well, this team will score a lot of runs in the next 120 games.
he did steal 37 bases in 2009-10 combined, but well that is a while ago - he'll turn 42 in not quite 6 weeks....
** Or in Stanton's case, likely headed towards it.
now 10-8 Mets and they are still batting
11-8 as the half-inning of carnage ends after 2 more singles and then a fly out.
#somethingshappeninghere
11-11 as we go to the 9th, as 21 total batters go to the plate in the 8th.
Pederson has 3 HR, 7 RBI, overcoming the 6 RBI by Lindor (so far)
it was a crazy game. a little surprised at the Giants indeed celebrating like they just won the WS - but other than Belt and Crawford (and Pederson), not sure anyone else on this team has, so why not.
