The longest month. This year even longer than usual.
* 30 days hath November, except in the college football thread, where it runs through Championship Week before giving way to the Bowl Spectacular.

It's just too cute - you want to run something like that on 1st down and catch them off guard, OK, give it a shot. But on 4th down - too much ground for Johnson to cover, too much that can go wrong on the OL, too little margin for error. And especially when you have a QB who can also be a power runner - just go get 2 yards and quit ####### around.
That's Pat Narduzzi in a nutshell. In fact earlier this season he told the media that one of the player's mothers thanked him for not telling anyone her son was injured so that's proof that he does it the right way. And my response was yeah, right up until there's a huge scandal because someone gets caught selling inside injury information to gamblers.
Like, at some point you just have to admit Uiagalelei isn't the guy and let the freshman have some margin for error instead of throwing him in desperate situations.
if I'm the Irish, I throw the deep ball on 1st and 2nd down......
Still, it's a real game, I'll give it that.
-SMU had TDs on their first 9 possessions and led 63-42 seven minutes into the third quarter.
-The only punt in the game was, surprise, by SMU.
-That was the only possession SMU didn't get a TD on, though, except for when they kneeled out to end the game.
-Houston had 3 INTs, a turnover on downs, and missed FG.
-Total yards: Houston 710, SMU 642
I take it we can't kill both Ohio St and Michigan, too - and maybe not either one?
speculation that the Bama QB might quit since he can't be in the playoff and why risk getting hurt and possibly cost yourself millions?
but that strikes me was WAY too early. no chance he plays in the bowl game, I'd imagine. but exit before then?
such players have seven-figure insurance policies iirc. doesn't mean there is no risk, but there is no "I leave here broke" scenario.
…and he was remarkably restrained after both extremely close replay calls went Alabama’s way. I don’t like having to give BK props but he was the better coach last night.
That felt like a pretty efficient opening drive for the Gator offense, notwithstanding a fumbled snap and a couple of near-INTs by Richardson.
Been awhile since we've seen the Gators roll an SEC team like this. Keep it up!
At any rate, that's at least 3 times now that they've run a Hail Mary without Richardson even getting a proper throw off.
Nice TD.
Bonus points for the kind of onside kick where you kick it as hard as you can at the closest return guy and try to bounce it off him.
Just seems weird.
And Texas turns the ball over on downs.
Kendre Miller, 75 yards.
Meanwhile, Texas roughs TCU's punter then busts a coverage on Quentin Johnston, and TCU is up 17-3 with 12 minutes left, and it's getting late early for the Longhorns.
With a quarterback sitting on 400 yards, they run on 3rd-and-1 and get stuffed, settling for a go-ahead field goal with 51 seconds left.
Also he's got as many SEC wins this season as Jimbo does.
UCLA gets to the Arizona 29, and the game ends with three failed shots to the end zone.
