Pensacola Blue Wahoos list stadium for Airbnb rentals

The team, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, has listed Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida, on Airbnb. The Blue Wahoos say it is the first time that a baseball stadium is available on the rental service.

For $1,500 per night (plus fees), up to 10 guests are granted access to the stadium, which includes use of the team’s clubhouse, batting cage and field, along with a batting practice setup.

“Guests are welcome to hit from home plate, play catch in the outfield, run the bases, enjoy a picnic in the outfield, or find other creative uses for the field!” the listing reads.

The bedroom next to the clubhouse sleeps 10, and a staff member will stay on site for security and to answer questions.

Tiem to take the Primer softball game on the road!

Dang, that sounds like a lot of fun if you live in the area and feel safe with a group (not sure what the COVID situation is in that area). Sadly every date seems booked according to the web site - tried to go through the booking process to see if it is for real and couldn't even pick dates (all were stroked out).

It does sound like fun. I would want to pitch a tent on the ballfield, though.

It does sound like fun. I would want to pitch a tent on the ballfield, though.

When my oldest son was in Cub Scouts, they had such an event at Victory Field in Indianapolis. Sadly, there was the possibility of overnight rain, so they wouldn't let us pitch our tents in the outfield and we had to do it in the concourse instead.

It is a fun stadium. Right on Pensacola Bay and a decently hit homer to LF goes into the water. Like a scale model Pac Bell (or what ever corporate name it is now) Park in SF.

When I was in college, we had a club baseball team, and we scheduled a game against Syracuse. We were lucky enough that they allowed us to play at the home of the Auburn Doubledays. The GM of the team was there maintaining the stadium and was a super nice guy who even volunteered to play walk up music for us. It was a super neat experience.

Really, more minor league teams should do stuff like this.

Right on Pensacola Bay and a decently hit homer to LF goes into the water.

According to Google Earth, the water past the LF wall is right around 400 ft from home plate, the same distance as the center field fence. (To hit the water past the CF fence would be more like 575 feet!)
