Wow! So the Pirates and Nationals can draft players that will immediately impact their teams and make them contenders? Huh? What do you mean, it doesn't work that way in baseball? The players they draft will have to spend years in the minors before they even make the majors? You mean this isn't like the NBA? Hello...?

Big win for the A's ownership here. They got the lowest pick possible = less they have to spend on draft pick.

Ben Cherington was interviewed after the lottery saying how proud he was of having the first pick.

A guy with integrity would have said that he was embarrassed they were in the lottery and hope to never again be in it.
