Wanted to buy the Expos and (inexplicably) move them to Detroit: Nikco Riesgo
The team would probably be better offensively if it benched Allensworth or Watson and played Schoolboy Rowe at LF or 1B (McClendon would move from 1B to C), but for whatever reason Schoolboy never made an appearance as a position player. Helluva hitter though.
i'd forgotten about riesgo and the expos ... weird dude.
See if you can figure out what, if anything, the MLPO does.
How did the Mets not trade him? Reportedly, lots of teams were reportedly putting claims on him.
Koyie Hill betrays Cubs, takes his severed fingers to St. Louis.
Brewers sign Brooks Conrad. This is a guy who started four playoff games in 2010 and I don't remember even seeing him on any list of free agents.
Angels sign Jorge Cantu.
Cincinnati signs Andrew "The tall injured guy" Brackman.
Dbacks sign Mike Jacobs.
Yankees sign #16 / #47 / #23 / #29 / #82 Adam Miller and DeWayne "Perfect Game" Wise.
Marlins sign Chad Gaudin.
Rays sign Fernando Rodney.
Blue Jays sign Darren Oliver. This will be only his 8th MLB team.
Nationals sign Dan Cortes.
They probably can't afford to pay the players they'd get back for him.
I wonder if he'll play first and they'll still add Damon to DH.
I remember discovering Silver King on baseball reference and just being flabbergasted by his career. His 1888 season should only exist in Super Baseball Simulator 1.000: 45 wins, 584 innings, an ERA+ of 199, good for 16.5 WAR, all at the age of 20. He had 48 WAR before he turned 23. Add in his awesome nickname and that he might've been baseball's first sidearm pitcher and he had no windup in his delivery, and he had an amazing career.
Scott Proctor's reportedly signed with a Korean team.
Ehh, that's not bad. He's no Old Hoss though.
