Former commissioner Bud Selig, former Atlanta general manager John Schuerholz and retired manager Joe Torre—all three also in the Hall—are also among the voters scheduled to meet Sunday in Orlando, Florida, to consider candidates whose primary contributions were from 1950 to ‘69.
Current executives Al Avila, Bill DeWitt, Ken Kendrick, Kim Ng and Tony Reagins also are on the panel along with media members/historians Adrian Burgos Jr., Steve Hirdt, Jaime Jarrin and Jack O’Connell.
Gil Hodges, Roger Maris and Minnie Miñoso are among 10 men on the ballot along with Dick Allen, Ken Boyer, Jim Kaat, Tony Oliva, Billy Pierce and Maury Wills plus former Pittsburgh manager Danny Murtaugh.

Among these folks, the only one I’ve heard mention any candidates is Thirn who in a round table mentioned Bud Fowler as someone whose achievements as a serial baseball entrepreneur may have made him worthy of the Hall’s attention as a pioneer.
I’d say it’s good for Boyer (mike Schmidt should help there along with STL connections ), good for Oliva with Carew and Avila
Avila is first Cuban GM and Ng is first female GM so maybe good for Minoso. Burgos specializes in Latino sports history ! Jarrin is well known in Latino broadcasting circles
Kaat may get some love with Carew, Avila and jarrin
Hard to see this being a good committee for dick Allen, Maris, Pierre, Hodges, wills or murtaugh
And while it's largely an NL-flavored committee, most of the players missed the peaks of most of the candidates. Pierce, Hodges, Maris, Boyer, Minnie were all retired by 1969, and Schmidt didn't start until 1972, Ozzie until 1978, Carew until 1967. Ng was working for the ChiSox when they entertained Minnie's final comeback attempt in the early 1990s.
It's pretty varied, and it will be interesting to see what happens. Jenkins competed against, and played with, Allen, and might have first-hand knowledge of the racism Allen faced in Philly in the mid-60s.
Good to know. Oliva would argue for Minoso.
