Has anyone compiled a list of the top unprotected prospects?

Basically, if you needed protecting and were in the team's top 15, you were protected. There are a few team #7-#9s unprotected (I noticed three). Here's hoping somebody grabs Yohendrick and he makes the opening day roster so we can have a Yohendrick. The Padres had 8 guys from #9 to #30 and protected none of them.

Once you're past that #15, it unsurprisingly helps to be a pitcher. Most specifically, of the 23 players protected who were not in the top 30, 19 were pitchers (and one was a C). The Giants were interesting -- they left #14, #22 and #25 unprotected but added 4 guys outside their top 30 -- the three unprotected guys were position players while 3 of the 4 protected guys were pitchers. Being a pitcher is a great way to get added to the 40-man.

That's Yohendrick "The Schmendrick" Pinango.

The Cardinals didn't protect

Inohan Paniagua, RHP (No. 13)

Dionys Rodriguez, RHP (No. 19).... I don't think there is any way Rodriguez gets picked, but Paniagua could be intriguing to a team in a rebuild mode. Mid reliever(quality curve ball) for the season, and then another year in the minors developing the last steps into a middle of the rotation pitcher (optimistically speaking of course) (although I just looked at his measurements, 6'1" 148 pounds...)
