Some guy named Chipper Jones catches foul ball during Game 1 of Cardinals-Braves NLDS

Once upon a time, Chipper Jones catching a foul ball at an Atlanta Braves game wasn’t very noteworthy. The retired third baseman had to do that a lot during his career — even in the NLDS, in which the Braves played Game 1 against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.

However, Chipper Jones catching a foul ball in the year 2019, that’s just fun. The 47-year-old looks like he’s having fun.

That grin and those high fives came after the former MVP hauled in a foul ball from the bat of Cardinals outfielder Randy Arozarena in the top of the ninth inning of Game 1 between the Cardinals and Braves.

The batter was called out on the infield fly rule.

As a Mets an and someone who hates Chipper Jones (and his son Shea) that was pretty cool.

Is it ok to observe that I was kind of surprised that Jones looked pretty not an athlete? So many of the ex-players seem intent on staying in reasonable shape I was legit 'whoa' when Jones came out to throw that pitch. Him and Maddux. Maybe it's an ex-Braves thing?
