SportsLogos.net - NEW Brewers Ball-in-Glove Logo for 2020

It’s been rumoured for years, but now it appears to be finally happening. The Milwaukee Brewers are returning to their classic “Ball-in-Glove” logo full-time for the 2020 season.

Thanks to a preview of a new Topps Baseball Card set, we got our first look at the new Brewers logo late tonight. The logo, shown on the lower-left corner of a “Bernie the Brewer” mascot card features the classic logo now in a darker blue and placed inside a circle. The team name “MILWAUKEE BREWERS” surrounds it in white and the circle outlined in yellow.

Great news.

It's a top 5 logo in baseball. Top 10 in all of sports.

I was an embarrassingly late age when it was pointed out to me that the glove actually spelled "mb".

I was also at an advanced age (not sure exactly how old, maybe late teens), but in my defense, I noticed it myself just kinda out of the blue one day.

In related news, I noticed not long ago that Wazzou's cougar logo spells out WSU.

I think I noticed the mb pretty quickly.

On the other hand, I still don't know what the hell the Expos logo was getting at.

I saw the "e l b" in the Expos logo early on and spent enough years wondering about it that like so many others I figured it must mean "Expos Le Baseball". Never saw the "M" of course.

Expos logo was getting at.

Abstracted "M", right, while also being initials of something in French (e-l-b)? Expos League de Baseball?

EDIT: What Crispix said, regarding the "e-l-b"; I clearly don't speak French

I always thought it was an "M" overall, with an "e" with an extended tail and a "b" making up the halves, for "Montreal Expos Baseball."

Theory I just now ran across is that the logo design was a "gift" from owner Charles Bronfman to his daughter, Ellen Jane Bronfman, and is a "e-j-b" forming an abstracted "M" for Montreal.

Don't worry, "Expos le Baseball" does not make sense in French. Maybe "Expos de Baseball" would.

My wife was almost 35 by the time she figured out the ball and glove was an M and B. I suspect she didn't know the Brewers were a baseball franchise until her 20s.

Me, too. And I attended at least one Brewers game a year from high school into my early 20's.

For any of you who haven't caught on yet, the Reds' logo is a large "C" with "REDS" in the middle. :-)

But we still don't know what the hell a 'Met' is, right?
