STL Today: Miklasz: Pujols tears hole through heart of Texas

The Astros cry - ki-holy-####-yi!
Deep in the heart of Texas

No, Pujols hit a real man’s homer.

It climbed above those Crawford boxes, above the brick walls, and above the train tracks that adorn the top of left field.

The home run was measured at 412 feet, which is absolute fiction, and a joke - because this baby had to carry about 435, 450 feet.

No matter how far it traveled, it surely caused extensive damage in Houston.

his favorite gifts to give out to people while on international trips were little busts made of LBJ.

I shudder to think what part of LBJ those busts were made of...

my dad and i used to call him juan agosto-disgusto!!

What a coincidence. Our nickname was simply "Juan Disgusto".

You could pretty much guarantee that TLR would bring him in in a key situation, and he would walk the first batter he faced.

For you young White Sox fans, think Damaso Marte without the stuff.

Trading three spots in the 21st was a nice touch to break up the monotony.

That had to be a long walk back to the dugout for Chuck Porter after blowing a three run lead in the 21st...

I think that Sox 21st inning started with a horrible throw by Randy Ready from third, into the stands on the fly.

Seaver not only got the win in that game but also in the regularly scheduled one. Shades of Wilbur Wood.
