All aboard the Light Rail! Hopefully, he’ll smoothly glide down the tracks these next four seasons (with a decent option at the end) without any major derailments. Seems like a decent bargain to me!
Baker would have been eligible for arbitration after this season and eligible for free agency after 2012. So this deal buys out his arbitration years and gives them an option for his first year of free agency. Baker will make $750,000 this year, then $3 million, $5 million and $6.5 million in 2012.
