He had a kidney transplant almost 30 years ago to fight the disease that killed his mother at 38.

At his best (with John Rooney) he was a funny and astute radio broadcaster. I am glad that duo got to call the World Series for AM 1000. Farmer sounded so happy that night.

Will be sad to listen to Sox games on the radio (eventually) without Farmio. His play-by-play skills improved over the years, and he always injected the right amount of personality and homerism.

Maybe Jason Benetti can just call TV and radio simultaneously?

When I think about it Ed Farmer and John Rooney together were my favorite broadcast team of all time.

RIP
