I feel like they don't keep guys around that long to leave a mark with the franchise? Only three Padres have played in 1000+ games - Gwynn, Winfield, and Templeton. Compare that to the Royals who came in the league at the same time and have their own problems retaining players in the free agency era - they have 13 players with 1000 games.
Jake Peavy is better than any of them.
That's certainly No. 1, but he did have the decisive hit, a 3-run blast, in the only World Series game the Padres ever won.
