Before the season he uses all his power to resurrect Hitler. Red Sox fans only agree this is a bad move after he sucks.

At least Castiglione's still going to be around. I wonder when they'll get around to hiring a new #2. Scott Graham would be a great choice, but nothing that logical ever happens. They'll probably wind up with Jim Leyritz or something.

The Boston offense works at last, so his relative hittability turns out not to matter.

I heard Psycho may be his partner, but the last time an ex-player did Red Sox games on radio was when Rico Petrocelli did them in the late 70's. OK, Eck did a couple games here and there; but it wasn't a regular thing.
I'm pushing and also taking 0/0/0/0.00/0/0 and boldly predicting that he misses the entire season due to an undocumented cortisone shot that was keeping his elbow together after his long WBC/Pacific League season. You heard it here first!

"You have to be good to lose 27."
He can't be sent to the minors and has a no trade clause, so if he sucks, he's not going anywhere.

BOSTON (December 15, 2006) – Entercom Boston and the Boston Red Sox today announced the new radio broadcast team for the 2007 season. Veteran play by play man Joe Castiglione returns for his 25th season of calling Red Sox games, to be joined by Dave O’Brien, currently the play by play announcer for ESPN Monday Night Baseball and the World Series on Major League Baseball, and Glenn Geffner, former radio voice of the San Diego Padres.

I submitted the announcing hires as a Clutch Hit an hour or so ago, so it will appear eventually. Some further clarification is http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com/shots/here.

Perhaps, but 27 decisions ain't mop-up duty.

It's better than it looks. He's very good, but his flyball tendencies at Fenway combined with the hitters of the AL (and of the AL East in particular) combine to keep his stat line mortal. Francoma, under explicit instruction from his FO, strongly controls Matsuzaka's IPs as he adjusts to the pace of the US schedule. Uneducated fans consider him a 'failure', stat geeks consider it reasonably within appropriate expectations, even if everybody concerned wishes that he'd been Pedro '99. Zito puts up a better W/L and a slightly better ERA for the Mets; Boston print media slams Epstein and claims that Zito was a better signing, even as BP runs the numbers and says that Zito's ERA in Matsuzaka's place would have been 4.89.

And OMG TEH KRAMER is my favorite news-related handle of the year, narrowly beating Luis Polonium-201.
... with Joe Castiglione referring to each of the 190 whiffs as a "poon-chaht-sai."
And you can take this prediction to the bank too:
5 / 1 / 0 / 0 / .200
AB / H / HR / RIB / AVG

Somebody already called that, I'll bet.
I like OMG TEH KRAMER's and ADIP's guesses the best. Especially ADIP's, I think.
