Mets owner Cohen has indicated that he doesn't care,
I must have been out of the room when he indicated that.
Cohen two weeks ago in the NY Post:
"When things get really bad, I’m not going to blow up,” Cohen said. “I don’t think that’s the proper response. I don’t think it solves anything, other than it gives people a one-day story. But it doesn’t really solve anything. There’s plenty of blame to go around from a performance point of view. So blowing up, I’m not sure it solves anything. It would demonstrate, ‘Oh, he really cares. He’s one of us.’ But the reality is it’s not going to solve our problems. And I think in some ways it can be demotivating."
"General fan reaction, it’s usually, ‘I can’t believe Steve’s not going nuts, fire somebody.’ My answer to that is, ‘OK, let’s say I went nuts. Let’s say I fired somebody. Then what?’ What does that accomplish?"
.............
[the Mets are 4-6 since that inspiring message, and trail tonight in the early going. but no worries, Mets players and other employees - ain't nuthin' gonna happen. win, lose, draw - everyone keeps their jobs, seemingly indefinitely. but Cohen is way smarter than the Phillies, who fired their out-of-touch old manager last June and - well, they didn't actually WIN the World Series, did they? so there !]
Shorter Howie: Steve Cohen needs more George Steinbrenner.
A bit surprising, but he pays more attention to the Mets than I do.

This is about how things are going for the Mets.
It's the second popup with a catch probability of at least 95 percent that the Mets have not caught tonight.
Phillies 3, Mets 1, bottom six.

This is evidence of literally the opposite of what you are trying to show.

I explained in another thread that Cohen finally clarified his comments the other day.
shorter version: he thinks that the MLB community doesn't trust him, and that if he fires anyone during this season - even if it gets worse than this 7-19 June bloodbath - that he won't be able to hire the best available MGR/GM talent in the offseason.
I don't necessarily agree, but that is his viewpoint.
would have been better if he had explained that in the first place, since his earlier version went over with the bulk of the fan base like a lead balloon. but better late than never, for sure.
