TR Sullivan: Neftali Feliz headed for Arlington

The Rangers are ready to call up uber-pitching prospect Neftali Feliz. He could be added to the roster as early as Sunday night.

Feliz is 4-6 with a 3.49 ERA in 25 games, including 13 starts, for Triple A Oklahoma City. He has a 2.16 ERA in 12 relief appearances with 20 strikeuts, three walks and 10 hits allowed in 162/3 innings out of the bullpen.

The Rangers have been toying with the idea of calling him up since the All-Star break and now their bullpen is stretched a little thin with some of the short starts over the past week.

Or traded for the superior 1st baseman from the Angels instead of Kotchman.

Kendry Morales

.299/.350/.581 with 23 homers.

I know nobody expected this from him but Kotchman was damaged goods.

I certainly have been annoyed by Gavin "Deer in the headlights" Floyd's success in that welcoming and low-pressure White Sox clubhouse.

Tex didn't push the Angels any further than they would have gone without him. The deal turns out to be Kotchman and Marek for Mike Trout.

Without Tex, the Angels might have been swept by the Red Sox. So there's that.
