Trevor Bauer immediately gave up a home run after he was sent down to the Japan minor leagues

Former National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer was eligible to return to Major League Baseball after serving the longest domestic violence suspension in the league’s history. But a complete lack of interest among big-league clubs had Bauer looking elsewhere and eventually signing with the Yokohama BayStars in Japan’s NPB.

That stint in Japan has been rough for Bauer, and it managed to get even worse this week.

After posting an 8.40 ERA in three games, the BayStars sent Bauer down to its minor-league farm team in hopes of giving Bauer an “adjustment start.” Well, it didn’t get off to the start he wanted at all.

More likely Trevor doesn't really give a shvt and is just cashing a paycheck

If he really didn't care he's made enough money to sit at home and do whatever he wants until he dies of boredom. I imagine he's having trouble adjusting to the fact that MLB has cast him out. Probably hard to get motivated when you know you'll never be let in the club again no matter how well you perform.

Piece of #### pitching like a piece of ####.

Not a very good idea, considering.

at the risk of sounding like too much of an apologist, you don't go to the minors to get guys out; you go to the minors to sharpen up your pitches. sometimes that will result in getting guys out, but sometimes it means throwing 8 changeups in a row and seeing 7 of them get called "ball" and one of them hit 650 feet to dead centerfield.

I doubt Trevor went to the Japanese minors to work on his change up. He went there because he was godawful in the majors and he needs to prove he can get somebody out. Or really the team was probably hoping he'd pack it in and go back to America

He went there because he was godawful in the majors

He had one bad start out of three, one excellent start, and one otherwise good start spoiled by giving up 3 HR (a weak spot of his in MLB too). Despite the ugly 8.40 ERA in aggregate, he did have a 2/18 BB/K rate in 15 innings; B-R doesn't compute BABIP but 21 non-HR hits and 27 non-K outs points suggests extremely bad luck in that department.

In the demotion start, if you read the article, he struck out 10 and didn't give up any more runs. That's a successful outing. 2.05 ERA with 2/27 BB/K rate in 22 innings in Japanese AAA, which is basically what you expect from a good pitcher getting work in.

The Bay Stars are in second place despite having mediocre pitching. An in-form Bauer could be a difference maker.

That's all well and good, but you failed to dunk on Trevor Bauer. There are rules around here, you know.

i would srsly doubt that trevor doesn't give a poopoo about embarrassing his little ol self over there. he your usual ultrasuper competitive athlete who got to be right and know it all. i would bet he is still furious about his icky sex life being front and center instead of his wonderful pitchingness and salary getting skillz and his brand now being worthless and he is not concentrating on pitching.

he one of them guys never met an argument he didn't like. he would even help set up the argument for you, then hope you get angry enough to punch him out, and then wonder why you don't want to be friends

he don't need no paycheck fer SHER

and unless he gonna set his social media/podcasts stuff up like that whatshisname nazi woman hater MMA sort of jerk from hungary not sure what kind of baseball future in media he got. too bad because he was pretty interesting.

fun fact:

the reason that human trafficking piece of #### rapist blew up last summer is because he set up a pyramid scheme (ahem, "multi level marketing" scheme) that gave teenagers money for spreading his videos on social media.
