And yes, excellent next level slide. That is something you can't do on a feet first slide.
The outfielder turned and threw a near perfect strike, given the time he had to field that.
The infielder received that throw and since he had his back to the runner to receive it, did a great job of trying to apply the tag.
The batter/runner hustled out of the box and stretched that for a double with that insane slide.
The umpire was in perfect position to see the entire play and made the correct call.
That's just great baseball from start to finish.
Well, not exactly but the fade slide is a similar concept, I even pulled it off a few times in softball. Go in right foot forward with left foot trailing but pointed out not tucked under. Slide to the right of the bag, hope the fielder's tag follows the front foot, hook the bag with the left foot.
