HOW WILL THE ANGELS WIN OR LOSE TODAY?!
   2. mathesond Posted: July 06, 2021 at 04:31 PM (#6027944)
I can't speak for the Angels, but the Brewers are getting Rowdy.
   3. Snowboy Posted: July 06, 2021 at 04:40 PM (#6027945)
CLE@TB postponed due to weather, double header tmr.
   4. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: July 06, 2021 at 08:22 PM (#6027975)
Jake Arrieta gives up a grand slam before recording a single out.
   5. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: July 06, 2021 at 08:47 PM (#6027978)
Arrieta doesn’t make it through the second though the defense sure didn’t help.
   6. Walt Davis Posted: July 06, 2021 at 09:26 PM (#6027988)
Arrieta's last 7 starts: 23.1 IP, 35 H, 32 R, 27 ER, 8 HR, 16 BB, 25 K

Or his last 12 starts: 43.1 IP, 64 H, 53 R, 44 ER, 15 HR, 25 BB, 40 K

Put the poor man out of his misery.

EDIT: Looks like my math is off a bit but doesn't change the story.

Ohtani gives up a run in the top of the 1st, drives one in with a double in the bottom of the 1st.
   8. Hombre Brotani Posted: July 06, 2021 at 10:17 PM (#6028001)
Ohtani shattered Christian Arroyo's bat to end the top of the second, then goes and picks up the barrel of the bat and then delivers it back to Arroyo with a big smile on his face. I've never seen a pitcher go fetch a broken piece of bat, much less deliver it back to the batter. I'm so in love with that guy.

Stanton 3-run HR in 1st @ Seattle.

Roger Clemens did it once.

All star Nate Eovaldi has K'd 5 Angels in the first 2 innings of work. Unfortunately he's also given up 1 HR, 3 doubles, a single and 3 runs. Feast or famine baby!

Have to keep him in the game as long as he has a chance at the record, no?
   13. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: July 06, 2021 at 10:54 PM (#6028011)
Cubs now down 15-4. One interesting thing about this never-ending streak is how the majority of the games have been either narrow losses or absolute poundings. After tonight, the 11-game losing streak will include five one-run losses and five blowouts.
   14. The Yankee Clapper Posted: July 06, 2021 at 11:13 PM (#6028015)
3 more Yankee runs in the 2nd on just 2 hits, both singles. 2 BB, SB, HBP & WP helped a bit. 6-0.
   15. The Yankee Clapper Posted: July 06, 2021 at 11:39 PM (#6028021)
Yankees may be losing some momentum, only scoring 2 in the 3rd. 8-0.
   16. the Hugh Jorgan returns Posted: July 06, 2021 at 11:43 PM (#6028022)
Angels scratch out another run, up 5-2, still with bases loaded. Looks like the Sox are going down tonight.
   17. Hombre Brotani Posted: July 06, 2021 at 11:51 PM (#6028023)
Ohtani actually looks like he's been through the wringer. His pace on the mound has slowed considerably. Pitching and hitting in the same game is hard.
   18. Walt Davis Posted: July 06, 2021 at 11:57 PM (#6028024)
Huh ... on July 2, 2000 the Cubs signed Robinson Chirinos a month after his 16th birthday. On July 6, 2021, Chirinos finally appears in a game for the Cubs. That must be some sort of record.
   19. Hombre Brotani Posted: July 07, 2021 at 12:00 AM (#6028026)
Looks like that'll be it for Ohtani tonight. 7 IP, 5 hits, 2 runs, 4 Ks, 0 walks. 1-4, double, run scored, RBI.

He's so awesome. I'm so in love with that guy.
   20. Howie Menckel Posted: July 07, 2021 at 12:00 AM (#6028027)
Cubs still scrapping at 15-10 til they just lost

suddenly-revived Reds bullpen reverts to form tonight, blowing a 6-1 lead thru 7 innings to lose 7-6
   21. Walt Davis Posted: July 07, 2021 at 12:04 AM (#6028028)
And during the 11-game losing streak, the Cubs' bullpen has given up 46 runs in 42 IP.

Red Sox fans sure hope so. But man, is that guy fun to watch. Even when against your team, you want to see him do well because its just so much d*mn fun.
   23. The Yankee Clapper Posted: July 07, 2021 at 01:35 AM (#6028032)
5-hit night for Luke Voit, along with 3 RBI. His return to health & 2020 form would help. Yankees lead Mariners 12-1, heading into the bottom of the 9th, which is apparently a fine time for Aroldis Chapman to attempt to regain his form.
   24. The Yankee Clapper Posted: July 07, 2021 at 01:52 AM (#6028033)
1B, K, BB, K, BB & K gives Chapman a scoreless 9th! The glass may be half full.

Any, and I mean any, type of unwanted negative results involving Chapman are always welcome. He's a douche of the tallest order.
