Willie Adames traded to Brewers from Rays

The Brewers acquired shortstop Willy Adames in a trade with the Rays on Friday. Right-hander Trevor Richards will also head to Milwaukee, with Tampa Bay receiving right-handed relievers Drew Rasmussen and J.P. Feyereisen in return.

"We want all the relievers."

I’m a huge fan of the brewers front office and manager. With their limited funds, they really do make the most of their team. Urias was ruining their defense-first structure. Now they really have a superior defensive team behind that great pitching staff. They may finish last in hitting but they will win a ton of lower scoring games

I don't say this often but a terrible trade by the Rays. With all their SS prospects, trading Adames makes sense but not for this meager return. Adames is a SS with a career 103 OPS+, 7.7 WAR, 3.4 WAA and still just 25. You don't trade a 3.5 WAR SS (plus a reliever) for two relievers, you just don't. The Rays don't make mistakes like this of course so maybe they know teams have found an unfixable hole in his swing. Still, everybody but Brewers fans should be pissed that their GM didn't beat this offer (even if it meant moving Adames to 2B/3B). (Are their behavior issues I've forgotten about?)

As to Franco, he won't be promoted until the Rays are confident the super-2 deadline has passed.

FireIce is nothing, but is Rasmussen a guy who could start? Plus, he was drafted in the first round by the Rays one year (and didn't sign with them).

I've been using AdBlock Plus for years, and it was great on Twitter, as I never had those annoying "promoted tweets" clogging up my feed.

Then yesterday, all my Twitter text disappeared; I still saw the tweets, and any images in the tweets, but the name of the Tweeter was gone, the tweet text and any other text component related to the tweet, and all I saw was a feed of "blank" tweets.

It took me a bit of time, but I realized it was because of the adblocker; when I turned it off on Twitter, everything came back (including the annoying promoted Tweets).

Now on this site, the Tweet in the intro shows up as a mug shot, a blue check, a twitter bird, and a few retweet-type icons.

Does anyone know if there's another adblocker I could be using that would still work with Twitter?

I have "BetterTwitter" which hides a bunch of stuff on Twitter, but still shows me the post here as a Tweet.

Does BetterTwitter block the promoted tweets (ads)?

What device? On my computer, I use the uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger browser extensions (Chrome or Firefox).

You know, when we fought the Yankees, we did it to save our team from extinction. But we never answered the question, why? Why are we as a team worth saving? We still commit errors because of greed, spite, jealousy. And we still visit all of our sins upon our children. We refuse to accept the responsibility for anything that we’ve done.

Rasmussen started 23 of his 27 minor league games. I have to think the Rays will find a creative way to use him.

Fangraphs had a number of comments suggesting that Adams “can’t see in Tampa bay” but apparently sees well everywhere else and will be a 3-4 WAR player outside of Tampa? What’s the underlying story here?

He has a 616 OPS in TB and 864 on the road. That is big though it's still just one season of PAs in each. The 384 road BABIP obviously isn't sustainable but every component has been better on the road. I assume if you dig into statcast stuff, you'll find the same. Whether "seeing" is the problem isn't obvious -- the K and BB rates are worse at home but not dramatically so.

What's the reasoning here? there's no reason to think that defense would be more important in a low scoring game rather than a high scoring game, is there? I dont see how.
