Yankees expected to make formal Carlos Rodon offer very soon

Of course, seven years at $1,000,000 per year is an offer, so the info is meaningless.

The initial indication is that Rodon seeks seven-plus years at $200 million plus, and while the Yankees seem reluctant to go to that length, they also seem very serious and hopeful about this pursuit.

I wonder how formal it will be. Is it black tie?

I can't see the Yankees throwing that kind of deal for a pitcher again.

Giants have now signed two starting pitchers. I guess they're out on Rodon?

Re: #1 (for a guy who ended up disappointing us and being very cringeworthy, dude could write)"

- Shall we say pistols at dawn?

- We can say it. What does it mean?

You have insulted the Countess' honour.

- Why? I let her finish first.

- Her seconds will call on you.

- Seconds? I never gave her seconds.

- My seconds will call on your seconds.

My seconds will be out.

Have 'em call on my thirds.

If my thirds are out, go to my fourths.

I think all offers should be made "town crier" style where the GM/president/whatever has to dress up in 1730's garb, unroll the scroll and shout to the heavens for all to hear.

IMHO this would make the process much more interesting.

Better yet, Free Agency should be turned into a Fantasy Baseball style auction. It'd be a bigger draw than the NFL draft.
