Pirates - Signed Jack

Pittsburgh Pirates - Signed SS Jack Wilson to a 3-year, $20.2 million contract.

Blarrgh.  Wilson is an excellent defensive shortstop, Gold Glove worthy, but he’s been an offensive zero in the majors in all but one season.  There was no urgency, either; the Pirates already had exclusive rights to Wilson for two more seasons.  Thumbs down - Wilson is popular, but until the Pirates show they can evaluate baseball players, any successes the franchise will have will be by accident.
