Our long national nightmare is over. Farrell announces Rodriguez for Tuesday, Buchholz to the bullpen.

buchholz will almost certainly be a disaster out of the bullpen. but maybe it's just what he needs?

Do you write action movies in your spare time?

Buchholz is a former high draft pick (supplemental first, compensation for Pedro Martinez) who then became a highly touted prospect.

I thought he was a draft and follow (which is technically the same, I guess).

what i mean is that if he isn't a total tire fire, pitching out of the pen could break him of some of his bad habits. doubtful, though ...

Buchholz looks ok for a few innings then he falls apart. He may be of some use out there, giving the rest of the middle guys a rest here and there.

Buchholz in the bullpen basically means they'll be playing 1 pitcher down most games, because he won't come in with runners on base (with his pitching-from-the-stretch problems) and basically won't be trusted unless it's a blowout.

And the first time he DOES come in a shite the bed... the boos will be even worse than last game.

I may be reading way way too much into this but... That he's not going on the DL tells me he doesn't want to "play ball" and go on the DL to help the team with a minor league rehab stint to try to get right. I've come around to thinking DFA is the best option here. Let him be someone else's problem.

I'm ready to turn the page. I know I won't ever trust a start of his in a key game. He's not a disappointment. He's just... nothing to me.
